Alder Lane BeachSouth Forest Beach Drive Hilton Head Island SC 29928 Website Alder Lane Beach is next to Marriott's Grande Ocean Resort, off South Forest Beach Drive, with parking across the street on Woodward Drive. Twenty-four metered spaces are available, two are handicap accissible. The designated swimming area extends 100' to the north and 100' to the south. Public Beach Accesses All of Hilton Head beaches are public, from the ocean to the high water mark. Access to the beach, however, is often private. The Town of Hilton Head Island provides five beach accesses including Alder Lane Beach. Located beside the Marriott Grand Ocean Resort on South Forest Beach Road at Alder Lane. This is a wide beach. Amenities include restrooms and drink vending machine. It's an easy bike ride from most south end locations. This beach is equipped with sturdy mats making it wheelchair accessible. Parking & Facilities Parking is across South Forest Beach Road. There are 22 metered spaces that are are 25 cents for 15 minutes. Handicap parking is available at no fee at all beach parks. Parking in residential areas marked NO PARKING - TOW AWAY is by permit only. Unpermitted vehicles are subject to fines and/or tows. Restrooms, changing areas, sand showers and vending are available at the beach parks. Designated Swimming Areas Official swimming areas have been designated for the Alder Lane beach. The boundaries of these areas will be clearly marked on the beach and in the water. During the beach season lifeguards are stationed in each of the designated swimming areas and other heavily populated beach areas for assistance and beach information. Please ask a lifeguard before entering the water if the yellow caution flag is flying. |
